How long will it take to see results?

Our customers notice a significant reduction in hair loss after about 2 months of treatment. However, for better effectiveness, we recommend taking Hair'a for at least 4 months. If you want to go further, you can also combine these supplements with scalp massages and Ayurvedic powders to minimize hair loss as much as possible.

    Hormonal assessment for androgenetic alopecia.

For androgenetic alopecia, a hormonal assessment may be recommended, especially for women showing signs of hyperandrogenism. This assessment should be conducted between the second and fifth day of the menstrual cycle, after a month without hormonal treatment. The hormones to measure include testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S), 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17OH progesterone), and delta-4 androstendione. Other tests may include the systematic measurement of TSH, as well as ferritin levels to rule out an iron deficiency.

For premenopausal women with progressive androgenetic alopecia and menstrual cycle abnormalities, a hormonal assessment to check for hyperandrogenism is recommended. For postmenopausal women with progressive or newly onset androgenetic alopecia, testosterone levels should be measured. Additionally, further examinations such as an ovarian ultrasound may be recommended to check for underlying conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), especially for women showing signs of hyperandrogenism (acne, hirsutism, menstrual disorders).

Can I take these two supplements at the same time and combine them with other supplements?

Luminaissance and Hair'a should be taken together and can even be combined with our other supplements from the store for greater effectiveness: Olympia or Hygée Boost, as well as Vitamin D, Magnésia, Ino Stress, Andromaque, Isis Phase 1 and 2.

Andromaque, when combined with Hair'a, also helps achieve satisfactory results.

    Hair loss and PCOS

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can lead to hair loss in women due to an excess of androgens, such as testosterone, causing hyperandrogenism. This condition can result in androgenic alopecia, characterized by a gradual thinning of the hair, particularly on the crown and temples. Hair loss associated with PCOS can have a significant psychological impact, affecting self-esteem and body image in the women affected.

    What is androgenic alopecia?

Androgenic alopecia, also known as baldness, is the most common form of hair loss in both men and women. It results from an increased sensitivity of hair follicles to androgens, particularly dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In men, it manifests as progressive hair loss at the temples and frontal area, which may extend to the crown of the head, sometimes with the appearance of a balding patch at the back. In women, it is characterized by diffuse thinning of the hair on the top of the head, usually preserving the frontal hairline, with thinning hair but no complete hair loss.

The prevalence of this condition reaches up to 80% in white men over 70 years old and nearly half of women, often after menopause. Factors such as stress, eating disorders, certain medications, and conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome can exacerbate the progression of androgenic alopecia.

Hair Growth and Body Hair Growth

How this formula promotes hair growth while reducing body hair growth

    • DHT Inhibition by Saw Palmetto: The inhibition of DHT reduces hair loss and may decrease the growth of body hair.
    • Hormonal Balance: Ingredients like zinc and copper help maintain optimal hormonal balance, thus promoting healthy hair growth without excessively stimulating body hair growth.
    • Targeted Nutrition: The vitamins and minerals in this formula are specifically chosen to support the hair follicles on the scalp. They provide the necessary nutrients for hair growth without significantly affecting body hair growth.

In summary, this formula encourages hair growth by providing essential nutrients, modulating hormone levels, and specifically inhibiting factors that could stimulate excessive body hair growth.

    Alopecia

Alopecia is a medical term referring to hair or hair loss, whether partial or total, temporary or permanent, affecting the scalp or other parts of the body. It can take several forms:

    • Androgenetic alopecia (common baldness) is hormone- and genetics-related, affecting both men and women.
    • Alopecia areata, of autoimmune origin, presents as patchy hair loss.
    • Traction alopecia is caused by tight hairstyles or harsh hair treatments, often reversible if treated in time.
    • Diffuse alopecia is characterized by generalized hair loss on the scalp, potentially due to stress, illness, or certain medications.

The causes of alopecia are varied, including genetic factors, hormonal changes, autoimmune diseases, physical or emotional stress, nutritional deficiencies, and aggressive hair treatments.

Androgenetic Alopecia and Excessive Hair Growth

Androgenetic alopecia and excessive hair growth are two distinct phenomena, although both are related to androgen hormones. Androgenetic alopecia results from an increased sensitivity of the scalp's hair follicles to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which leads to a progressive miniaturization of the follicles and specific hair loss. In contrast, excessive hair growth is often due to an increase in androgen production or an increased sensitivity of body hair follicles to these hormones, typically manifesting on the body and face.

It is possible for a person to experience both androgenetic alopecia and excessive hair growth simultaneously, a phenomenon frequently observed in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Although both conditions are influenced by androgen hormones, their effects vary depending on the location and sensitivity of the hair follicles.

    I'm delighted!

In 3 weeks I noticed a change in the texture of my hair, much less falling out and even a few weeks later lots of new little hairs. I'm thrilled!
